October is Archives Month, a nationwide celebration of history.
The Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation is celebrating Archives Month in October with a poster designed to share about Beckman history through the theme Great Ideas Start Here.
Our poster features three images from the Beckman Foundation Collection that explore development of the Beckman pH meter starting in the 1930s. Each image has a corresponding caption that provides context and descriptive notes.
In 2006, October was designated as California’s Archives Month by then-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger as part of a nationwide, month-long celebration in which archives and archivists share history and their collections with patrons. It coincides with American Archives Month, established by the Society of American Archivists.
