Inside the Institutes: Celebrating the Career of Lucy Shapiro, PhD

On August 2, the Beckman Center for Molecular and Genetic Medicine at Stanford University hosted the Lucy Shapiro Symposium to celebrate her career and tenure as a molecular developmental biologist and Beckman Center Director. The event honored Dr. Shapiro’s “trailblazing contributions to science, inspiring mentoring of her trainees, leadership in biotechnology, and far-reaching impacts on science policy.” Pictured here are Dr. Shapiro with Steve Pizula from the Beckman Foundation Board of Directors, and in a fireside chat with Dr. Peter Kim of Stanford.
